SIA Refresher Training For Door Supervisor + First Aid Course Harrow

Starting From 1 April 2025, all SIA licence holders must complete a refresher qualification before renewing their Door Supervisor or Security Guard licence.

Top-Up and Refresher Training for Door Supervisors

• Refresher training is available for all Door Supervision Licence holders renewing their licence.
• From 1 April 2025, completing the refresher qualification will be mandatory for all Door Supervisors seeking renewal.
• Until 31 March 2025, Door Supervisors with pre-April 2021 qualifications must complete either top-up training or refresher training before applying for renewal.

Emergency First Aid Requirement

SIA Refresher Training for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry

Unit 1: Principles of Working as a Door Supervisor (Refresher)

• Conducting effective search procedures
• Keeping vulnerable people safe
• Understanding terror threats and the security operative’s role
• Safeguarding the public from spiking incidents

Assessment:

• Multiple-choice test (35 questions; 55 minutes)
• Practical assessment: Conducting a search

Unit 2: Application of Physical Intervention Skills (Refresher)

• Understanding the implications and risks of physical intervention
• Reducing risks associated with physical intervention
• Performing safe, non-pain compliant standing, holding, and escorting techniques

Assessment:

• Multiple choice test (30 questions; 45 minutes)
• Practical assessment of skills for LOs 4 and 5
• Oral Q&A

If You hold a door supervisor licence, you can choose one of the following options:

• Take the door supervisor refresher training and renew your door supervisor licence
• Take the security guard refresher training and switch to a security guard licence
