Important Course Details
Who Needs the SIA Licence Renewal Course?
Refresher training is available to all Door Supervision Licence holders looking to renew their licence. From April 2025, all Door Supervisors looking to renew their licence must have completed the refresher qualification.
Until 31 March 2025, Door Supervisors who have an old, pre-April 2021 qualification will need to have completed either the top-up training or refresher training before they apply to renew their licence.
If you do not already have a valid First Aid certificate, don’t worry — it’s included in your booking. If you already hold a valid EFAW certificate, please email us your First Aid certificate with us through email info@londonsecuritycollege.co.uk
Unit 1: Principles of Working as a Door Supervisor in the Private Security Industry (Refresher)Â

- Understand how to keep vulnerable people safe.Â
- Understand terror threats and the role of the security operative in the event of a threat.Â
- Know how to safeguard the public from incidents of spiking.Â

- Multiple choice test (35 questions; 55 minutes)Â
- Practical assessment of learners undertaking a searchÂ
Unit 2: Application of Physical Intervention Skills in the Private Security Industry (Refresher)Â
- Know the implications of physical interventions and their ‎useÂ
- Know the risks associated with using physical interventionÂ
- Know how to reduce the risks associated with physical interventionÂ
- Be able to proficiently and safely use physical skills to protect yourself and othersÂ
- Be able to use non-pain compliant standing, holding and escorting techniques safelyÂ

- Multiple choice test (30 questions; 45 minutes)Â
- Practical assessment of skills for LOs 4 and 5Â
