Anyone aged 18 or over who wants an SIA Door Supervisor licence. It covers front-line roles including pubs, bars and nightclubs, events and festivals, retail and shopping centres, corporate reception, manned guarding and site security. No previous experience is needed.

Door Supervisor licence holders renewing on or after 1 April 2025, or anyone who qualified before April 2021 and never completed Top-Up training. The SIA will not renew without a current refresher qualification. If you are moving to a Security Guard licence instead, call us and we’ll point you to the one-day Security Guard refresher.

Allow roughly three months from booking to badge in hand: results take 14 to 15 working days and SIA approval takes up to eight weeks. Most officers book three to four months before their licence expires, because you cannot legally work front-line once it has lapsed.

Choose a date on the course page and pay the deposit securely online by card. The balance is paid at the centre. You can also pay by bank transfer or over the phone on 020 8050 4108.

No. The £220 licence fee is paid directly to the SIA when you apply, and the licence is valid for three years. Before applying you also need to complete the two free ACT counter-terrorism modules, see our ACT training guide.

Results are published within 14 to 15 working days of your exam and you’ll be notified by SMS and email. Certificates are usually dispatched within 7 days of a successful result. You don’t need the certificate to apply for your SIA licence.

If a course has to be cancelled for reasons outside our control we’ll offer an alternative date, and if that doesn’t suit you, an instant refund.

Check your spam folder first. If it isn’t there we may have an incorrect email address on file, contact us and we’ll verify it and resend your confirmation.
