SIA Licence Help
So you’ve passed the course – what happens next? This depends on who is paying for your licence…
**If you are paying for your own licence, directly to the SIA**
There are 3 steps to the licence application process:-
- Setup your online profile with the SIA at https://services.sia.homeoffice.gov.uk/sign-up/
- Log into your SIA account, click on ‘Process new application’, answer the questions and submit your application
- Go to the Post Office with your ID – they will also take your photo for your licence and take payment

Start an SIA licence application online
To apply for an SIA licence, you need to complete an securityonline application form with the Security Industry Authority. Please check with your local branch if you need to book an appointment to complete your application there. Apply for an SIA licence
Visit a Post Office
Bring your SIA application reference number and original copies of the required documents into a branch. Find a participating branch
We’ll complete your application in branch
We’ll check your documentation, capture your photograph and take your electronic signature. We’ll also take payment, if required.
We’ll send your application to the SIA
Your completed application will be sent to the SIA. This service costs £184.
