From 1 April 2025, all SIA Door Supervisors and Security Guards must complete an SIA Refresher Training Course before renewing their licence. This mandatory update ensures that all security professionals are equipped with the latest industry knowledge, best practices, and safety procedures.

Who Needs This Course?

✅ Security Guards transitioning to a Security Guard Licence
✅ Professionals with pre-April 2021 qualifications (must complete refresher or top-up training before 31 March 2025)

Course Details

Unit 1: Principles of Working as a Door Supervisor (Refresher)

✔️ Conducting effective searches
✔️ Keeping vulnerable people safe
✔️ Understanding terror threats & security’s role
✔️ Preventing spiking incidents

Assessment:

• Multiple-choice test (35 questions, 55 minutes)
• Practical assessment: Conducting a search

Unit 2: Application of Physical Intervention Skills (Refresher)

✔️ Understanding risks of physical intervention
✔️ Safe, non-pain compliant control techniques
✔️ Reducing risks during interventions

Assessment:

• Multiple-choice test (30 questions, 45 minutes)
• Practical assessment of physical intervention skills
• Oral Q&A

Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Requirement

If you do not already have a valid First Aid certificate, don’t worry — it’s included in your booking. If you already hold a valid EFAW certificate, please email us your First Aid certificate with us through email info@londonsecuritycollege.co.uk
