The SIA Refresher and CCTV Bundle Canary Wharf lets you renew one licence and train for a second with a single booking. It combines the 2-day Door Supervisor Refresher (with Emergency First Aid) and the full 3-day Level 2 CCTV Public Space Surveillance course, both at our E14 centre, for £50 less than booking them separately.

The refresher gives you the qualification you need to renew your Door Supervisor licence. The CCTV course is the full qualification for a new CCTV licence, which opens up control room and monitoring work alongside your door work.

Your Five Days Run Consecutively

Wednesday to Friday, CCTV, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Saturday and Sunday, Door Supervisor Refresher, 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM

One block, one week, both qualifications. You take five days out rather than two separate trips, and you finish with everything you need to renew and to apply for a second licence.

Part 1: Level 2 CCTV Public Space Surveillance Course (3 Days)

The SIA CCTV course in Canary Wharf runs Wednesday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. This is the full CCTV course, not a refresher, and it meets all SIA requirements including the mandatory 27 hours of guided learning.

What you will cover:

• Unit 1: Working within the private security industry
• Unit 2: Working as a CCTV operator within the private security industry
• Unit 3: Practical operation of CCTV equipment

Assessment: exam at the end of the course.

Part 2: Door Supervisor Refresher + First Aid (2 Days)

The SIA Door Supervisor Refresher in Canary Wharf runs Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM. Since 1 April 2025, Door Supervisor licence holders must complete a refresher qualification before renewing. Self-study is required before the course; we send full instructions once you book.

What you will cover:

• Emergency First Aid
• Unit 1: Principles of working as a door supervisor (refresher), including search procedures, keeping vulnerable people safe, terror threats and spiking
• Unit 2: Application of physical intervention skills (refresher)

Assessment: multiple-choice tests and practical assessments.

What Two Licences Let You Do

Holding both badges roughly doubles the work you can take.

Your Door Supervisor licence covers pubs, bars, nightclubs, hotels, events, retail, construction gates and corporate reception. Your CCTV licence adds public space surveillance, control rooms, monitoring suites, shopping centre security offices and transport operations.

The practical difference is the hours. Door work is weekends and nights. Control room work runs shift patterns across the week, indoors, year-round. Officers who hold both can take whatever is available rather than waiting for the door trade to pick up, and agencies place them faster because one person covers two contract types.

Our Canary Wharf centre is at E14 9TS, roughly one minute’s walk from Crossharbour DLR. Canary Wharf station brings the Jubilee and Elizabeth lines within a short ride, and South Quay and Mudchute are both close by.

That makes five consecutive days straightforward from across the Isle of Dogs, Poplar, Limehouse, Blackwall, Millwall, Bow and Stratford, with Greenwich and south-east London a short hop across the river.

Before You Book

You must already hold a Door Supervisor licence, the refresher renews an existing licence rather than qualifying you for a new one. Bring it with you, along with photo identification and two proofs of address.

Self-study is required before the refresher. We send full instructions once your booking is confirmed, so leave yourself time to complete it.

Once you’ve passed both, apply through the SIA licence application service. Approval can take up to eight weeks, so submit as soon as your results land. We also recommend the free ACT counter-terrorism e-learning via ProtectUK, which employers increasingly ask for.
