Course Overview
Martyn’s Law is the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025. It places a statutory duty on those responsible for qualifying public premises and events to take reasonable steps to protect the public from the consequences of a terrorist attack, and the Security Industry Authority regulates it.
But procedures written into a policy document protect nobody. The people who make them work are the officers on the door, the stewards in the concourse and the duty manager who has to call it. So this course trains them.
The Act is named in memory of Martyn Hett, one of 22 people killed in the Manchester Arena attack in 2017. His mother, Figen Murray OBE, campaigned for the legislation.

Module 8’s topic count wasn’t visible in what you sent, fill that in and the table is complete. The other seven total 34 topics.
Module 5 is the one worth noticing. Most Martyn’s Law courses train procedures and stop there. This one covers the Responsible Person and the Designated Senior Individual, who actually carries the duty in law. An officer who understands that knows when to act and when to escalate, which is exactly the judgement the Act relies on.
