Course Overview

Night Shift Security Officer Training Online is a CPD-accredited course for officers who hold static sites through the night, when the office tower is empty, the hotel back-of-house is silent, the construction compound is locked down, and help is further away than it feels.

Seven modules, around six hours, entirely online at your own pace. So you finish with a certificate from London Security College and, more usefully, a way of working that holds up at 04:00.

Why Night Work Needs Its Own Training

Night security looks like day work on paper. But at 03:00 everything changes. The light is different, the acoustics are different, fatigue is fighting you, and the decisions you make in ninety seconds get reviewed the next morning in full daylight and full hindsight.

So this course covers what genuinely differs after dark. It is not a daytime guarding course with the word “night” bolted onto the title.

The Biology You Can’t Ignore

An entire module covers circadian rhythm, sleep hygiene, fatigue recognition and long-term health, the part most security training skips entirely.

You’ll learn to anticipate the 02:00–04:00 alertness dip and schedule patrols around it. You’ll apply evidence-based sleep practices for permanent and rotating nights. And you’ll understand your protections as a night worker under the Working Time Regulations 1998, including hours limits and the right to a free health assessment.

Most officers working nights have never been told that last one exists.
