Term Definition
Slip Loss of footing caused by too little grip between footwear and the floor. Often due to wet, oily, or smooth surfaces.
Trip Stumbling caused by the foot striking an obstacle such as cables, uneven flooring, or clutter.
Fall Loss of balance leading to impact with the ground. Can be same-level or from height.
Same-Level Fall A fall occurring on the same surface you’re standing on, usually after a slip or trip.
Fall from Height A fall from stairs, ramps, or raised areas — higher risk of serious injury.
Hazard Any condition, object, or situation that could cause slips, trips, or falls in the workplace.
