Module 6: Working Effectively with Law Enforcement
Overview
In this module, you’ll learn how to work professionally and legally with law enforcement during incidents at your site. From first response to prosecution, your actions play a vital role in whether an offender is charged, a case is dismissed, or your credibility is questioned.
Many security officers feel unsure about what they can and cannot say or do when police are involved. This module clears that up — aligning your responsibilities with UK laws, the SIA’s Code of Conduct, and standards such as BS 7499 and BS 7858. You’ll learn how to prepare solid evidence, communicate with officers, and support investigations while staying compliant and confident in your role.
